Home Ranch Wedding / Nisa + Grant
I love me some home ranch weddings. Nisa and her two siblings grew up in this house. I can't even begin to imagine growing up with so much land all around you to explore. From the couple.....
How did you meet?
"We met in a construction trailer while working on a building project at the University of Texas at Austin. We both work at UT; Grant manages facilities for Liberal Arts and I work for Landmarks, the public art program on campus. Both of our jobs required attendance at a weekly construction meeting and I guess I quickly caught Grant's attention amidst a sea of hard hats and construction dudes. Over the next several months he took any opportunity he could to talk to me and eventually it dawned on me that he was more than just an extra friendly guy. I asked him out on our first real date (with our dogs, at the dog park), and the rest is history!"
How did you choose your venue?
"We didn't seriously consider any wedding venue other than my parents' ranch. Grant proposed while we were hiking on the ranch and it just seemed like the ideal place for a wedding like the one we wanted: personal, casual, beautiful, and fun. My parents spent the short 5 months of our engagement sprucing the place up and making it even more wonderful than it's always been. Pretty much everything about the wedding--from the welcome area to the hayride to the lights and dance floor was imagined and executed by my sweet parents. We had a very loose 'Texas' or 'ranch' theme with a classic Texas country-tonk band, bbq, and country/playbill fonts on our paper goods, which just seemed right, given the venue."Venue: Home Ranch Flowers: Clementine Floral Design Catering: Spice of Life Music: James Hand Wedding Coordinator / Design / Rentals: Parties by Design Paletas Ice Cream Cart: El Paraiso
