Prospect House | Flannery + Nick's New Years Eve Wedding

In their own words.

Q:  How did you meet?

A:  We were high school sweethearts, we met freshmen year.

Q:  Tell us about your wedding details.

A:  We chose Prospect House because we wanted to get married in the Texas hill country but we didn't want to go too rustic. The venue capitalized two things we love about Texas, the rolling hills and open sky. Having a modern blank space, we were able to incorporate more romantic elements like lanterns, candle light, greenery and organic florals to soften the ceremony and reception space without over powering it. When I was describing to Kate the type of aesthetic I wanted, West Elm meets Anthropology, she got it right away and the result was the perfect mix of modern, romance and whimsey.

Q:  What was your favorite part of the wedding day?

A:  Flannery- My favorite part was walking into the ceremony. I hadn't seen it lit up and fully put together yet and it was breathtaking. I was really anxious and ready to just get married but walking outside to the candle lit ceremony space with my parents, surrounded by loved ones and seeing Nick waiting at white square framed by the hills made me calm down and just live in the moment. Also, there were several fireworks that went off in the background during our ceremony as well so it felt like everyone was celebrating with us.

Nick- Seeing her in her dress for the first time. It was also great celebrating with so many of our close friends and family.
