At&t Conference Center Wedding | Michele + Justin
How they met: "In 2008, Justin was attending St. Edwards, and Michele was attending UT. Michele's roommate, Addie, was going country dancing at Midnight Rodeo one Thursday night. She invited Michele to join her, her boyfriend, and some of their friends. Despite not knowing the first thing about two-stepping, Michele decided it would be fun to go. When the boys arrived to pick up Michele and Addie, Michele and Justin met for the first time. Michele's initial thoughts were "Wow! He has a great tan for January"; for Justin, it was love at first sight.
Once everyone arrived at Midnight Rodeo, Addie suggested that Justin teach Michele how to dance. He was happy to teach her, but quickly realized she truly had no idea how to dance. Later in the evening, and a few whiskey and sprites later, Michele was still getting dancing lessons. It is hard to know who is to blame for this, but Justin accidentally stepped on her toe with his cowboy boots (she was wearing peep toe heels - big mistake!). When the pain intensified as time went on, Michele snuck away to the restroom and found that he had kicked off over a quarter of her toenail. He definitely made a lasting impression! Six years later, Michele's dancing has improved only slightly, but they still enjoy country dancing. A funny thing about us is: I didn't realize we are an interracial couple until about a year into our relationship. I thought he was a white guy with a nice tan!"
Fun wedding moments: "Justin was about to say the vows he personally wrote, and several people in the crowd and in the wedding party are already choked up. Justin takes a long pause because he is starting to get choked up a little too. In the midst of the pause, Justin says, "I'm trying not to cry because my dad said I wasn't allowed to cry". It made everyone laugh, and lightened the mood a little."
Favorite part of the day: "It is hard to pick a favorite part of the day because it was all so great. We are still so sad it is over because it was so much fun. If we had to pick, having all of our family and closest friends come together to celebrate us was our favorite part - along with having a private dance at the end of the night, which was Justin's idea. But, truly, the entire day from the moment we woke up to the moment we went to sleep was our favorite. Best day of our lives!"
